Gauteng Premier Nonvula Mokonyane and MEC Kgaogelo Lekgoro are expected to address the Inter-Governmental Relations Conference (IGR). The conference will look at the challenges and opportunities for delivery by government in a coherent and coordinated manner.
The Gauteng IGR Conference seeks to bring the three spheres of government together to ensure coherent planning and cooperation that will yield positive results in delivering services to the people. The intention is also to ensure that government curbs competition, duplication and wastage of scarce resources particularly in light of the declining finances experienced by government.
The Gauteng Department of Local Government and Housing, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) and South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Gauteng are the host the Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) Conference.
