North West Premier, Maureen Modiselle, will visit the communities of Skierlik and Mazista on Monday, 7 September 2009 as part of the Skierlik Renewal Programme.
The Premier will interact with members of the community and hand over food parcels. Mazista and Skierlik are some of the most poverty stricken areas in the province and where many incidents of racial tension have been reported.
The Skierlik Renewal Programme has three components, for example; relief of distress, infrastructure development as well as social cohesion and nation building.
Premier Modiselle is committed to ensuring that service delivery in the community is accelerated and that the promotion of racial harmony and peaceful co-existence receives focused attention.
