Interventions aimed at improving planning and coordination to accelerate service delivery are to be announced by North West Premier Mme Thandi Modise when she delivers the Policy Statement and Budget Speech for the Office of the Premier in the North West Provincial Legislature on Thursday.
Premier Modise’s speech will among others outline:
- Rollout of water, sanitation, road and energy infrastructure
- Recapitalisation of key economic assets owned by the state and infrastructure.
- Accessing Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) job fund and Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) Industrialisation fund.
- Rollout of economic infrastructure development through Special Industrial Zones.
- Strengthening the fight against fraud and corruption.
- Job creation initiatives targeting youth, women and people with disabilities and mining communities.
- Restructuring of State owned enterprises.
- Revival of moral regeneration to fight scourges of rape, crime, HIV and Aids, drug and alcohol abuse.
