Free State Provincial Government, together with Phumulela Local Municipality hosted Freedom Day Celebrations at Frankfort 27 April 2011. The theme of this year’s celebrations was Working Together to Unite the Nation, Promote Democracy and Protest Freedom.
National Public Works Minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde and Premier Magashule will officially open the Department of Public Works Bloemfontein Regional Office building on Thursday, 12 May 2011.
The construction of this edifice started in 2006 at the cost of R156 million. During its construction 352 jobs were created, 120 of which were under the National Youth Service.
The day’s activities include site visits by Premier Magashule, Minister Mahlangu-Nkabinde, MEC Mabe and other important stakeholders to various projects and a full programme at the City Hall and media briefing.
