Premier Kiviet to open SAGSA conference

Eastern Cape Premier Ms Noxolo Kiviet will on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 address principals and deputies who will attend the annual national conference of the South African Girls Schools Association (SAGSA) in East London.

The three day conference will be hosted by the three Clarendon Schools and be held at the Clarendon Primary School Hall and will start at 13h30.  SAGSA was established in 2001 and boasts amongst member schools the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, Clarendon Girls High School which achieved its 19th consecutive 100% matric pass rate in 2011, and other well-known girl’s schools in the country.

Clarendon Preparatory School Principal Bev Keth said: "The purpose of the conference is to provide a platform to share constructive ideas that are relevant to the education of girls. It also provides opportunities for debate, networking and support in the task of educating girls."
