Eastern Cape Premier Ms Noxolo Kiviet will on Tuesday, 6 October 2009 attend a media breakfast session of the Provincial Legislature with the Speaker of the Legislature at the Danâ€Ts Country Cottage in Mthatha. The media breakfast will start at 09h00 and will focus on the essence of taking Legislature to the people.
This focus is informed by the increasing violent service delivery riots believed to be an illustration of loss of hope on democratic public participation platforms of the country. Even though the Eastern Cape has not experienced such riots, the Legislature feels it prudent to invoke vigorous oversight led by the people who are capacitated and are able to engage their public representatives.
