Premier Kiviet to address provincial day of repentance and prayer

Eastern Cape Premier will be the main speaker at the Provincial Prayer Day event organised by the Provincial Moral Regeneration Steering Committee. The Moral Regeneration Steering Committee has called upon the people of the Eastern Cape to a provincial prayer day on 27 July 2012.

The prayer will take place from 12h00 to 14h00 in various venues in all local municipalities in the province.

The objectives of the provincial prayer are to:

1. To submit and repent to God Almighty for the mistakes we have committed in managing and leading His people, His creation and resources as stewards over government, church and community affairs.

2. To lay a solid godly prayerful foundation for the spiritual, moral, social, economic and political renewal, and the restoration of the dignity and respect of our province.

3. To make and submit a formal memorandum to Provincial and National Cabinet to declare and dedicate 26 April and annual South African Passover Day where the province and the nation must go to its knees and usher the nation to 27 April Freedom Day celebrations through prayer.

The main event of the Provincial Prayer Day will be held at Bhisho Community Church and will be led by Eastern Cape Premier Ms Noxolo Kiviet, Reverend Andile Mbete and Chief Ngangomhlaba Matanzima, the Chairperson of the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders.
