The launch of the National Council Against Gender-Based Violence, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 25 August 2012, has been postponed until further notice.
As you are aware, the President has declared a period of national mourning over the Marikana tragedy. The postponement will afford all leaders and stakeholders the opportunity to attend the memorial and funeral services related to the tragedy.
The Department apologises for the inconvenience that this postponement may have caused. We will inform you about the new date in due course.
