Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth, Children and People with Disabilities will on Thursday, 5 August visit National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) beneficiaries in Thohoyandou. They will be accompanied by NYDA Chief Executive Officer Steven Ngubeni.
During the trip the committee will visit Gym4U, a gymnasium owned by Junior Makhado who received assistance through the NYDA’s business consultancy services voucher programme and a business loan from the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) programme. The NYDA business development services voucher programme enables youth to access support for services such as business planning, productivity improvement, tax and accounting, marketing plans, etc from a network of accredited service providers. The NYDA Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) finance programme provides business loan finance ranging from R100, 000 to R5 million to young entrepreneurs who want to start or expand their businesses.
The committee will also visit Mvelelo Graphic Design, a graphic design and computer-training studio owned by Livhuani Ravele and SMARSH Trading, a sewing/clothing manufacturing shop owned by Mashudu Mudau.
