The MECs for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) and Culture, Sport and Recreation (DCSR), Mr Madala Masuku and Ms Sibongile Manana will table their respective 2011/12 policy and budget speeches on 26 May. Both MECs will use the policy and budget speeches to unveil their departmental plans for the 2011/12 accounting period.
After the recent local government elections MEC Madala Masuku will outline governments’ plan to support and strengthen municipalities, build local economies, promote active community participation on local government, ensure more effective accountable and clean local government as well as strengthening and supporting the institution of Traditional Leadership. On the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation (DCSR) MEC Manana will outline plans to develop Arts, promote school sport, build libraries and supply relevant titles and technology, preserve history and heritage.
