Police leadership to launch National Anti-Piracy Campaign

The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa, Deputy Minister of Police, Ms Makhotso Sotyu, the Acting National Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, Gauteng SAPS Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mzwandile Petros and as well as various partners will tomorrow launch the National Anti-Piracy Campaign.

The delegation will join various crime prevention operations aimed at addressing piracy in Gauteng. Each day, artists and musicians fall prey to fraudulent copying and illegal selling of DVDs and CDs by scrupulous criminals.

The police, in partnership with various partners, have now intensified the war on crime particularly in relation to piracy.  The launch marks the beginning of various operations which will be mounted across the country, as part of the When Duty Calls Festive Season safety campaign.
