Pholosong Hospital celebrates 20 years of existence

Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development MEC, Ntombi Mekgwe will tomorrow, 9 March 2012 join the staff as well as the community members in celebrating Pholosong Hospital’s 20th anniversary.

The 300 bed hospital with 999 staff members, serving a population of about 900 000 people from Tsakane, Duduza, KwaThema and Geluksdal first opened its doors in 1992.

The services offered in the hospital include Paediatric services, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, HIV, TB and STI services, Allied Services and Ante-Natal Care services.

During the 2010/11 financial year, the hospital had 12 685 admissions, 47 761 live births and 48 999 trauma cases were seen.

To educate the community, clinicians will exhibit services that are rendered at the hospital as well as share successes that have been achieved during the 20 years of existence.
