Parliament Budget Vote debate, exhibition and post-debate cocktail

Parliament’s budget will be debated by the National Assembly in the National Assembly Chamber at 14.00 on Tuesday, 21 June and by the National Council of Provinces in the Old Assembly Chamber at 14.00 on Tuesday, 21 June.

Members of the media are also invited to a cocktail in the Old Assembly Dining Room, after the budget vote debates.

At the cocktail, Parliament will be launching two new publications produced by the institution –Parliament’s Oversight and Accountability Model and a Manual for Parliamentary Committees.

The exhibition in the foyer of the Old Assembly Chamber will showcase:

  • A model of Parliament’s space utilisation project
  • Parliament’s energy-saving initiatives
  • A selection of artworks which Parliament owns
  • The oldest book in the Parliament Library (from the 1600s) and a list of selected historic publications in possession of the library.
