Official handover ceremony of additional facilities to Reseamohetse Public School

Free State Department of Education in partnership with Gold Fields’ Beatrix Mine will officially handover additional infrastructural facilities worth R11 million to the Reseamohetse Public School in Theunissen on Saturday, 2 April 2011.

They include 17 classrooms, toilet blocks, a library, a fully equipped computer centre, upgraded Early Childhood Development classrooms, a school hall and a security fence. These facilities are a completion of the first school phase which was built in 1996.

Due to shortage of classrooms and other amenities, the Reseamohetse Public School family was split into two, as one part of the school community was accommodated in an old dilapidated school building. The handing over of these facilities marks another milestone successfully achieved through the establishment of a partnership.

Gold Fields and Beatrix saw it befitting to partner with the Free State Department of Education as a way of giving back to the community where it has mining operations.
