Nuclear Energy Seminar

The Director-General for the Department of Energy cordially invites members of the media to the Nuclear energy Seminar as part of the Cop17 (DoE) site event. This side event will: Review the climate mitigation benefits of nuclear energy and compare the ben­efits with the risk, explore the role for nuclear energy in electricity production after Fukushima and present the South African perspective on nuclear energy; as well as describe IAEA capacity building in developing countries for energy system analysis and climate change mitigation.
