Women Taxi Driver Category draws interest in the upcoming Provincial Taxi Driver Competition
The upcoming Northern Cape Provincial Taxi Driver Competition will include a Women Driver’s Category following great interest by female drivers during the District leg of the competition.
The competition to be held on Sunday, 1 February 2015, by the Northern Cape Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison is in conjunction with the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco).
The competition focusing on Road Safety and improving the taxi industry forms part of the Department’s vision to ensure safe, secure and sustainable transport for all in the Province.
Winners represent all five Districts in the Province: Frances Baard, Pixley Ka Seme, Namakwa, ZF Mgcawu and John Taolo Gaetsewe.
The competition aims to award excellence in the taxi industry and improve services rendered to the communities through workshop held during the District leg of the competitions.
