North West road safety promotion and education drive in Ngaka Modiri Molema District

In an effort to conscientise road users about road safety particularly during the festive season, the North West Department of Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison will be conducting a road safety promotion and education awareness campaign drive in Ngaka Modiri Molema District on Friday, 10 December 2010.

The campaign drive targeted at motorists, cyclists and pedestrians is part of a rollout of the make Roads Safe-Festive Arrive Alive Awareness Campaign aimed at reducing accidents and fatalities on public roads during the festive season.

It is scheduled to start in Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality and end in Mahikeng Local Municipality. It will cover Sanvlaagte, Ikageleng location, the Zeerust Central Business District, Zeerust Taxi Rank; proceed to shopping complexes and taxi ranks around Mahikeng, Montshioa and Mmabatho.

MEC Desbo Monono calls on road users to be covered by the campaign drive and members of the community to use the opportunity support the Make Road Safe Campaign by signing the pledge to make roads safe by promoting responsible driving, no drinking and driving, no over speeding and no over loading.
