The importance of sports in reduction of stress and depression among police is to feature prominently in North West MEC for Public Safety, Howard Yawa’s speech to be delivered at the opening ceremony for the South African Police Service National Rugby Championship to be held at 8H30 on Monday, 29 June 2009 at the Olienpark Stadium in Potchefstroom.
The annual championship hosted by the North West province is expected to produce high-octane performance by individual players and provincial teams inspired by Morne Steyn’s incredible accomplishment during the Springboks' second test victory over the British and Irish Lions and an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
