North West Housing consumer education targets beneficiaries in rural community

The North West Department of Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison is to conduct a housing consumer awareness session for housing beneficiaries of a R38 million rural housing development project in Dithakwaneng village outside Vryburg on Monday, 11 July 2011.

The objective on the information session is to empower 600 housing beneficiaries houses approved for the rural housing development project under construction on their rights and concomitant responsibilities, understanding the value of houses, implications of signing “happy letters”, failure to occupy houses for which housing subsidy was granted, conditions of the National Home Builders Registration Council structural insurance and five-year warranty on their houses.

The session is to be conducted by officials from the Municipal Support Unit from the Human Settlement Branch of the Provincial Department in partnership with Naledi Local Municipality.
