The North West province is to host an engagement with CEOs of state owned companies in an effort to accelerate infrastructure development through expansion of rail networks, broadband and electricity transmission infrastructure.
The provincial engagement to be led by Public Enterprises Minister, Malusi Gigaba and Premier Mme Thandi Modise is scheduled to commence at 9h00 on Friday, 11 November 2011 at the Rustenburg Civic Centre in the North West Province.
The objective of the engagement with Infraco, Transnet and Eskom is to ensure that key infrastructure capitail expenditure plans of State Owned companies are aligned to provincial growth strategies and other economic initiatives to contribute to the revitalisation of key towns in the province.
Minister Gigaba ‘s entourage will include Deputy Minister Dikobe Ben Martins, Director-General Mr Tshediso Matona and Transnet CEO Mr Brian Molefe, Eskom CEO Mr Brian Dames and Broadband Infraco acting CEO Dr Andrew Shaw and Public Enterprises department’s senior officials.
Members of the Executive Council, Executive Mayors, Mayors, Provincial Heads of Departments, Municipal managers and other key stakeholders are expected to attend the high-level engagement.
A press conference is to be held at 14h30 to 15h00 at the conclusion of the engagement.
