In a quest to deliver a widespread access to health care services, MEC Dr. Magome Masike will lead a two day Mental Health Summit from 16 to 17 February at Klerksdorp Protea Hotel.
The summit is tasked with engaging provincial stakeholders on the destigmatation, mobilisation and advocacy, mental health community-based services, funding of mental health services – grants, suicide & suicide intentions, other conditions with mental health implications, culture & traditional healers and Child and Adolescent mental health care services.
Themed “Investing in Mental Health for a long and healthy life for all South Africans,” the summit will provide a timely opportunity for health professionals to share ideas and energy relating to the long term challenges confronting mental health. This is in preparation to the National Mental Health Summit diarised for March 2012.
