A Conference aimed at creating more jobs in the social sector is to be held in Rustenburg in the North West Province as from Wednesday.
The three-day Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Social Sector Conference which ends on Friday will focus on reviewing implementation of the programme launched to combat poverty, promote economic growth and create sustainable development, deliberating on strategic policy initiatives, identifying new areas of expansion for the sector to achieve set targets and planning for the financial year beginning in April.
The conference is hosted by the National Department of Social Development in partnership with other social sector departments which include the Department of Health, Department of Basic Education, Department of Public Works, Community Safety and Liaison and the Independent Development Trust.
The keynote address for the gala dinner is to be delivered by North West Premier Thandi Modise as follows:
