The state of the Department, turnaround strategy and progress to be unveiled
The Department of Health in the North West province will hold a media briefing on the state of health services, intervention progress, turnaround strategy and the financial performance since the implementation of Section 100 (1)(b) which put the Department under administration. The MEC Dr. Magome Masike will be joined by the Administrator Ms. Jeanette Hunter.
The media briefing will be held against the setting of the Provincial Health Consultative Forum with health stakeholders to bring them up to speed with recent developments within the Department. The forum will also seek to get inputs from both internal and external stakeholders on policies and programmes targeted at improving the provision of health care services.
Issues to be looked at the forum include improving health status of communities through the implementation of integrated health programme and promotion of healthy living, management of district health system, providing accessible, equitable and affordable comprehensive primary health care services and impact of municipal services to quality health care.
