Newly established Copyright Review Commission (CRC) to hold public hearings

The Minister of Trade and Industry established the Copyright Review Commission (CRC) to assess the effectiveness of collecting societies in the collection and distribution of royalties. The establishment of the Commission came as a result of concerns raised by performers and other stakeholders in the music industry to the State President and the dti.

In addition to consideration of written comments received, the Commission will also conduct public hearings in all nine provinces, commencing at 10h00, as follows:
