National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Chairperson to speak at the Black Management Forum (BFM) Conference

The Executive Chairperson of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Andile Lungisa will address the Annual Conference of the Black Management Forum (BMF) at the Gallagher Estate, Midrand on 9 October 2009. The BMF is hosting its Annual Conference from 8 to 9 where it also elected its new leadership. During the conference, Lungisa will present on the significance of youth participation in civil society.

The BMF has prioritised the challenges of skills and leadership development for a focused conference debate under the theme "The paradox of leadership in a developmental state."

Some of the issues to be discussed during the conference is balancing maintenance of stable economic fundamentals and meeting societal needs of a developmental state against the backdrop of the global economic meltdown, alignment of the schooling system with Higher Education and Skills requirements of the economy, and the leadership lessons pre-Polokwane, in Polokwane and post Polokwane.

The NYDA is aimed at coordinating youth development initiatives through guidance and support of initiatives of youth development across sectors and spheres of government, the private sector and civil society. It also promotes the economic development of young people.
