National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Chairperson Andile Lungisa to address members of the media in Cape Town on the establishment of NYDA provincial structures

The Executive Chairperson of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Andile Lungisa will address members of the media at the Imbizo Media Centre in Parliament on the outcomes of provincial consultations he held with key role players in the youth development sector, including meetings with Free State and Mpumalanga Premiers; Ace Magashule and David Mabuza respectively on the establishment of NYDA provincial structures.

Lungisa recently embarked on provincial visits where he met officials from government, municipalities, civil society and political youth organisations on the establishment of the NYDA provincial and local structures in the nine provinces. During the visits he also outlined the eight priority areas the NYDA has approved to strengthen youth development in the next five years.

The road shows started in the Eastern Cape from 22 October and will finish in the Western Cape on 11 November 2009.

During the briefing Lungisa will also announce the launch of the National Youth Service (NYS) project in Mitchells Plain as part of the drive by NYDA to recruit not less than 500 000 young people into the National Youth Service (NYS) by April 2010.

Lungisa will also announce and officially introduce the new NYDA chief executive officer to members of the media.
