The National Planning Commission kick-starts the public participation dialogue on the findings of the Diagnostic Document in the Eastern Cape province

The National Planning Commission’s (NPC) Deputy Chairperson Cyril Ramaphosa will, on 13 July 2011, lead a team of Commissioners to the Eastern Cape province as part of the NPC public participation process.

The aim of the visit is to initiate discussions and to mobilise the society in the formulation of the new national plan and a vision statement 2030 for South Africa.

Commissioners who are part of the team to the Eastern Cape province include Noluthando Gosa, Trueman Goba, Malusi Balintulo, Jerry Coovadia, Bridgette Gasa, Jennifer Molwantwa, Pascal Moloi and Tasneem Essop.

The NPC recently launched the diagnostic report that highlights core challenges that prevents the county to fully realise the vision expressed in the constitutions and it is now ready to engage with the general public in a dialogue about the findings of the diagnostic document and to petition for inputs for the plan and the vision statement.

All nine provinces will be visited by a team of Commissioners.

Members of the media are invited for a media dialogue:
Date: 13 July 2011
