The Department of Human Settlements will host a two day Human Settlements Youth Summit in Durban from 21 to 22 July 2011.
The summit is aimed at developing a shared understanding and consensus on the implementation of the broader human settlements 2030 vision.
The summit will be attended by some of the cabinet ministers and delegates from the National Youth Development Agency, political formations, business, civil society, Human Settlements Entities, youth non-governmental organisation, Construction and Engineering Training Authority (CETA), housing scholarship recipients and youth that participated in the Human Settlements National Youth Service projects.
Nb: Please note that as part of the summit, the Minister of Human Settlements, Tokyo Sexwale will launch the Lakehaven Social Housing Project in the eThekwini municipality on 21 July 2011 at 08h00 in Newlands. The first phase of the project consists of 312 units.
