National Council of Provinces (NCOP) Chair to hand over computers to high school near Groblersdal

The Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Mr Mninwa Mahlangu, will on Friday, 23 April 2010 attend a handing over ceremony for computers to the poorly resourced Zama-Zama High School in Hlogotlou, in the Elias Motsoaledi local municipality.

Zama-Zama High School near Groblersdal has been adopted by the Chairperson of the NCOP following visits by the NCOP as part of its oversight programme in the province. Having done the needs analysis of the school, Mr Mahlangu played a pivotal role in sourcing sponsors to donate computers to the school.

A total of 25 computers will be handed over to the school by the Buddha's Light International Association. They will also provide a facilitator for a period of three years who will be responsible for teaching computer classes to both learners and the community. After the three years a community member would have been fully trained to be the facilitator.
