The National Assembly will hold a special debate on the Lonmin platinum mine tragedy tomorrow, Tuesday, 21 August.
This will provide the National Assembly (NA) an opportunity to express, on behalf of the Nation, its condolences to the bereaved families and the injured mine workers.
This follows requests for such a debate to NA Speaker, Mr Max Sisulu from, among others, the Minister of Police Mr Nathi Mthethwa, and various political parties in parliament.
The two-hour debate will feature an opening statement from the Minister of Police.
