Mineral Resources Minister Susan Shabangu will on 18 April 2011 host a stakeholder and media briefing to give an update on the mineral rights audits that were undertaken during the moratorium period.
The briefing will also serve to introduce the new licensing system which is due to go live by end of April this year.
The purpose of the moratorium was to allow the DMR an opportunity to undertake audits of all issued rights and mining permits and also to devise ways of improving its licensing systems for better efficiency and transparency.
