Mineral Resources Minister, Ms Susan Shabangu (MP) will deliver a keynote address at the Mine Health and Safety Council’s (MHSC) Summit on Health & safety in the mining sector on November 17, 2011.
The two-day summit is aimed at improving health & safety conditions in South African mines, and will focus among other issues on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) achievements on the set targets of 2003, as well as cases of HIV/AIDS and TB in the sector.
The summit will see the convergence of government, mining sector and labour to curve a concrete plan on addressing mine health and safety issues facing the South African mining sector.
