Minister Susan Shabangu to address the Council of Ministers of the Diamond Producing Countries (ADPA) following the extraordinary meeting of experts

Honourable Minister of Mineral Resources in South Africa, Ms Susan Shabangu will tomorrow, 11 February 2011 deliver a keynote address to the Association of African Diamond Producing Countries (ADPA) Council of Ministers to be hosted at the Mt Nelson Hotel, Cape Town South Africa.

An extraordinary meeting of ADPA experts met today to trash out technical details on the work done since the second ordinary meeting held in July 2010.

Key on the agenda of the Council of Ministers tomorrow is the report on the Ministerial Mission to Zimbabwe, discussions and the adoption of the recommendations of the workshop on mechanisation of Artisanal Diamond Mining and the harmonisation of Diamond legislation and Tax policies in the ADPA Zone.

Minister Shabangu will also hand over to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) the chairpersonship of the council of Ministers which South Africa took charge of July last year.
