Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Ms Buyelwa Sonjica, will as part of celebrations of National Marine Month, focus on the successes of the working for the coast projects during a celebration tomorrow, Tuesday, 27 October 2009 at the Strandfontein Pavillion, Cape Town. The event will start at 11h30.
National Marine Month, celebrated during October, is aimed at creating awareness of South Africa’s marine and coastal environments and the benefits that our oceans, which encompass a multitude of ecosystems and store a wealth of resources, bring to our nation.
Please note due to unfavourable weather conditions the venue has shifted from the Strandfontein Pavillion to JQ Sports Club, Weltevreden Road Rocklands, Mitchells Plain
Time: 12h00
The theme for this year is “From oceans, to climate, to flora and fauna,” and seeks to emphasise the link between oceans and life by highlighting the role of oceans in climate change and how it affects people.
