The Minister of Social Development, Mrs Edna Molewa will deliver a keynote address on behalf of the Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Kgalema Motlanthe at the Global Business Coalition African Business Leaders on Health Conference. The conference is organisation by the Global Business Coalition (GBC) on HIV and AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
GBC is a movement of 220 companies that directs the response of business to HIV and AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and also serves as the private sector focal point for the Global Fund. The conference brings together global corporate, government and civil society leaders, who work with each other to find solutions to critical health problems by sharing ideas and best practices, creating innovative new partnerships and defining critical action steps.
The conference will highlight current challenges surrounding the growing HIV and AIDS and TB epidemics in southern Africa, and identify opportunities for targeted private sector engagement by individual companies as well as cross-sector joint action.A series of special session also will highlight how the private sector can work effectively with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria.
