The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu, will next week Monday, 29 August 2011 honour women in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) both uniform and non-uniform members at the SANDF Women’s Day Parade.
The SANDF Women’s Day Parade will be taking place for the first time in the history of SANDF. This unique parade aims at acknowledging role of women in the SANDF. This event is also part of celebrating women of 1956 who marched to the Union Buildings in protest against apartheid laws.
Women from all Services and Divisions in the SANDF i.e. from the South African (SA) Army, SA Air force, SA Navy, and South African Military Health Services will be taking part in this historic parade.
