Mineral Resources Minister, Ms Susan Shabangu (MP) will tomorrow, December 2, 2011 launch a R1.7 million worth economic development, agriculture project in Elandsfontein outside Randburg in Gauteng.
The project, known as the Aredirisaneng Primary Co-operative, forms part of Mining Company, First Uranium’s Social and Labour Plan (SLP) commitments and was facilitated and monitored by the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) who together with the West Rand District and Randfontein Local Municipalities played instrumental roles in its establishment.
At present it employs a total of twelve women from the local surroundings who had received accredited technical and practical training in agriculture management from the Agri Seta.
The Aredirisaneng Primary Co-operative’s will among other things improve the socio economic circumstances and develop members of the local community with a particular focus on women and youth in Randfontein.
