Transport Minister Sbu Ndebele and MEC Ghishma Barry will officially launch the Eastern Cape Arrive Alive campaign at the Rotary stadium in Mthatha on Thursday, 10 December 2009 at 9h00.
The event will feature a candlelight and wreath laying ceremony to remember all the people who lost their lives while using our roads.

08h00: Arrival of guests at the stadium entertained by gospel music
09h30: Arrival of the acting director-general, chief executive officer of Road Accident Fund (RAF), chief executive officer of Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) and traditional leaders received by district and local mayors.
All to be ushered to the holding room
09h40: Arrival of the MEC escorted to the holding room to be received by the acting director-general, chief executive officers and mayors present.
09h45: Arrival of the Minister of Transport escorted to the holding room received by MEC, acting director-general, chief executive officer s and mayors present.
09h50: Beginning of briefing session about the proceedings of the day and latest developments in the district led by the DDG Mr N Poya and Mr Charles Reynolds, General Manager of Traffic Management.
10h05: Minister and entourage leave the holding room to the stadium via Erol Spring Avenue: Intersection where the taxi burned and killed four people inside.
10h20: Minister arrives at the stadium, meet and greet all invited leaders of various faith based organisations and other dignitaries.
10h25: Observation of parade by police, traffic and emergency services.
10h30: Formal programme begins.
12h30: Laying of wreaths and signing of pledge wall
13h00: Lunch and entertainment, live performance of gospel music.
