Minister Robin Carlisle and Western Cape Government Employees to donate blood at Transport building

Minister invites employees to contribute blood as part of Safely Home campaign.

Robin Carlisle, the Minister for Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape, has invited Provincial Government employees to his Transport building to donate blood tomorrow, as part of the department’s Safely Home campaign and Blood Donor Month.

‘I would like to make a special appeal to the youth as we approach Youth Day 2011, to come forward and sign up to be regular blood donors.

‘The South African National Blood Service is setting up a mini-clinic in the foyer of our 9 Dorp Street headquarters so that we can help them get their blood reserves higher than 4.2 days and help to save the lives of car accident victims, amongst many others.

‘The blood we donate tomorrow could save up to three lives of accidents victims, new born babies and their mothers, amongst many others.’

‘You can see the current blood stock level by visiting http://www.sanbs.org.za.’

Members of the media are invited to attend.

Venue: The foyer of the Transport and Public Works Building, 9 Dorp Street
