Robin Carlisle, the Minister of Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape will this afternoon accept a cheque to the value of 10 000 US Dollars from a group of Americans, on behalf of Nyanga orphanage Emasithandane.
The orphanage was started in 1994 by Zelphina Maposela (who herself grew up as an orphan) after parents living with HIV and AIDS requested that she care for their children. Mama Zelphina serves as the Director of Emasithandane, which houses 39 children and feeds a further 25 from the surrounding area.
Well-known benefactor Michael Tladi will also be in attendance.
