Minister Richard Baloyi will address the Mahumani Day celebrations as a guest speaker in Giyani, Limpopo, on 6 October 2012. The minister will be honouring the invitation by Hosi Mahumani of the Mahumani Clan.
The event is part of the annual commemoration of the traditional heritage of the Mahumani Traditional Community within the Giyani municipality in Vhembe district.

The Community of Mahumani is privileged to have Salt in Baleni as a national asset after it was declared by Dr Nelson Mandela in 1999 as a Natural Heritage site and registered with the South African heritage. The site has also been declared, by the Limpopo Government, a provincial heritage site hence its annual celebration.
During the event the community will showcase their cultural artefacts which is promoted and marketed for economic empowerment.
