Public Service and Administration Minister Richard Baloyi will open this year’s Senior Management Service (SMS) conference by launching the “My Public Servant, My Future” campaign, which seeks to foster a new belief set for the public service.
The SMS conference forms part of the activities of the Public Service Week (PSW) that began yesterday with Minister embarking on unannounced visits in the Free State capital of Bloemfontein.
Under the theme, Transformative Leadership in Public Administration and Governance: Creating a better future for all, “My Public Servant, My Future”, the conference will be a platform to discuss progress made on the work of the special Anti-Corruption Unit, the positioning of Public Administration Leadership and Management Academy (PALAMA) as an academy to prepare, incubate and advance the capacitating of public servants and advancing the course of effective, efficient and developmental public service.
The conference will end with a round table discussion on Friday 23 September with labour, business and civil society focusing on “My Public Servant, My Future”, the draft Public Sector Integrity Management Framework and the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Unit as well as launching the E-Register of financial disclosure for SMS members.
The SMS conference takes place from 21 to 22 September at Velmore Conference Centre.
