The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa will tomorrow engage with Brits communities, business leaders, community policing forums, civic organisations as well as youth formations as part of the ministry’s on-going public participation programme.
Following the release of the crime statistics, the Minister has been embarking on various public participation programmes aimed at not only understanding some of the safety challenges, but importantly to encourage community involvement in addressing these.
During these meetings, communities get an opportunity to raise concerns with the Minister directly and in turn he would task the police management to address these complaints and concerns, within set time frames; in turn keep the Minister updated on progress.
As pointed out by Minister Mthethwa previously, the fight against crime cannot be a police duty alone but together with our communities, we all have a role to play.
Details of the public participation programme are as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 27 September 2011
Venue: Mmakau Community Hall, Brits, opposite Police Station
Time: 10h00
For directions to the venue please contact Aubrey Tshidi 073 308 1393
