Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa to deliver keynote address at Tracker South African Police Service (SAPS) National Awards

The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa will tomorrow give a keynote address at the 2012 Tracker National South African Police Service (SAPS) Awards ceremony.

In his address, the Minister is expected to reflect on the contribution of partners such as Tracker in the fight against crime. When Tracker and the SAPS became partners in 1996, rampant vehicle crime levels in South Africa were making headlines around the world.

The picture today, while vehicle crime remains a serious concern for all South Africans, it has come down significantly in recent years – thanks, in no small part, to the SAPS-Tracker partnership.

Date: Friday, 5 October 2012
Venue: Velmore Estate, 27 Main Road, Mooiplaas
Time: 11h00

Members of the media are cordially invited. There will be opportunities for 1-1 interviews with the Minister.
