On Thursday, 19 January 2012 Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will be accompanying a walking school bus at the Leiden Primary School in Delft.
The ‘Walking School Bus’ pilot project aims to create a safe walking route to school for learners in Grades 1 – 3 (Foundation Phase) at primary schools in the Delft area.
Minister Plato and Danny Cat (Provincial Traffic Department’s road safety mascot) will be accompanying the walking school bus and talking to learners about road safety.
