Minister Paul Mashatile will sign an Agreement of Cultural Cooperation with the Government of Argentina

Members of the media are invited to witness the signing of the Arts and Cultural Agreement between South Africa, by Minister Mashatile and Argentina, by Ambassador Carlos Sersale di Cerisano.

The fields of cooperation include the study of languages, literature, culture and history of each of the countries.

It would also include the development of cultural relations between the countries, by encouraging the exchange of study visits and lectures by specialists in this field as well as the exchange of information. There would be cooperation in different cultural fields of interest to both countries including exhibitions of art and artefacts, music, dance, dramatic art, fashion, co-operations between schools of art, associations of artists and writers, and the exchange of knowledge between state institutions and organisations dealing with the protection of cultural heritage, cinema, theatre, museums and archives.

“It would benefit both our countries tremendously and as developing countries our exchange of knowledge would assist building our economies and the creation of sustainable employment,” said Minister Mashatile.
