The Minister of Science and Technology, Mrs Naledi Pandor, will say farewell to 10 lucky high school science learners who are heading for London, in the United Kingdom, to participate in a 185 year old tradition: the Christmas lecture series at the world’s oldest research body, the Royal Institution of Great Britain.
The Royal Institution gives a series of lectures on a single topic which present scientific subjects to a general audience, including young people, in an informative and entertaining manner.
The 10 lucky learners who won this trip of a lifetime are from Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. They will leave tomorrow, 4 December 2009 and return on 18 December 2009. Three science teachers will accompany them.
