Minister Pandor to brief media on the department’s Budget Vote

The Minister of Science and Technology, Mrs Naledi Pandor, will on Tuesday, 24 May 2011 at 14h00, table the Department of Science and Technology's  budget vote speech in room E249, National Assembly building in Parliament, Cape Town.

At 10h00, Minister Pandor, Deputy Minister Derek Hanekom and the senior management of the department will address the media at the Imbizo Centre, 120 Plein Street, Cape Town, on what to expect from the budget vote to be tabled at 14h00.

The Budget vote is an annual event at which Ministers account to the nation for their departmental budgets allocated by the Minister of Finance. 

The media briefing will be followed by a walkabout at the department’s exhibition, which will be mounted at Iziko South African Museum, 78 Buitenkant Street, Cape Town.

Themed “Enhancing excellence in science and technology for economic growth, development and improving lives of all citizens”, Minister Pandor’s speech will, among other things, signal intentions on policy issues.
