Minister Nzimande to launch the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB)

The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr. Blade Nzimande will on Tuesday, 30 November 2010 launch the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB), during the Ministerial Round Table, at the Southern Sun Hotel, OR Tambo International.

This initiative will improve the success rate through improved curriculum development, improved training expertise and greater learner support as well as ensure that artisan development remains at the forefront of skills development in South Africa.

The approach is to implement a single apprenticeship based artisan development system in the country as opposed to the current SETA/sector driven process that resulted in confusing approaches to artisan development. This will entail the setting up and implementation of a programme called the “National Seven step programme to becoming a qualified artisan”.

Venue: South Sun Hotel, OR Tambo International
Date: 30 November 2010
Time: 09h30 to 13h00
