In an effort to take the defence force to the people and expose young people to the numerous career opportunities within the defence force, the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Honourable Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula MP, will address learners from about 10 high schools in and around Makhado, Limpopo province.
Minister Mapisa-Nqakula’s visit is not only aimed at encouraging learners to join the defence force, but to also contribute towards promoting peace and reconciliation of races in the province. The Minister is of the belief that values of peace, tolerance and willingness to co-exist should be instilled in young people at an early age.
Furthermore, learners will also be treated to an array of opportunities, and an elaborate career exhibition hosted by the Department of Defence.
Minister Mapisa-Nqakula has expressed gratitude to the leadership of Louis Trichardt High School for agreeing to be the host school.
The visit will take place on Friday, June 26 2015.
